The Albanese Government recognises and values the work of the Australian Breastfeeding Association to support breastfeeding in Australia and appreciates the ongoing work of volunteers to ensure the National Breastfeeding Helpline is available to families.
That’s why the 2023-24 Budget committed $40.6 million to support equity in the healthcare system and improve the health of Australian women and girls.
There will be continued funding for donor breast milk bank services ($6m), and the Australian Breastfeeding Association’s National Breastfeeding Helpline ($4.8m).
