Dingoes

Dingoes are of national and cultural significance. Their management is a complex issue with many factors involved.

Dingoes have been nominated a number of times for listing as a threatened species, or their loss as a key threatening process, under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (EPBC Act). Based on the advice of scientists and experts, none of these nominations have led to an assessment or listing of dingoes as endangered.

The management of dingoes remains the responsibility of state and territory governments and land managers.
